Festivals and events
Nottingham is proud to provide a variety of colourful events and celebrations taking place annually, offering fun and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
Most of these festivals are FREE!
Arboretum festival is held over two days in the summer months with live bands, street artists, craft stalls, children's activities, food stalls ad story telling. The Arboretum park is in the heart of the city offering you a place to relax and escape from the city. It is perfect for a walk or a picnic, wander along the paths, look at the bird aviary and see the beautifully tendered flowerbeds.
The Nottingham Tennis Open, this international tennis event is held at Nottingham Tennis Centre during the month of June and has grown in size and prestige each year.
The Robin Hood festival is one of the biggest festivals offered in the Midlands. Taking place at the end of July at Sherwood Forest Visitors Centre providing a programme of fun and entertainment including Jesters, Jousters and music to celebrate the life of the legend Robin Hood.
One City, One World festival, local artists and musicians perform in the Market Square to celebrate cultural traditions from Nottingham and around the world.
Riverside festival is Nottingham's biggest outdoor festival, taking place the first weekend of August. Set along the side of the beautiful river Trent, the three day and night festival provides family entertainment, street theatre, art, music, dance, craft and food promising fun and entertainment to suit everyone.
Nottingham famous Goose fair is one of Europe most famous travelling fairs and has been taking place in Nottingham for over 700 years. The goose fair takes place during the first weekend of October. Originally the fair sold live stock particularly geese. The fair has moved around the city it started in Nottingham Market Square and is current held on the forest ground.
Celebrate Bonfire night at the Forest Recreation Ground. Its annual firework display with fair ground attractions and entertainment from a local radio station promises a great evening for all the family.
Robin Hood Pageant takes places every October half term. Nottingham castle hosts this two day event consisting of live jousting, a replica medieval village encounter, musicians, entertainer and more. It's an ideal family day out!
Christmas market is stage in Nottingham Market Square from the middle of November right up to a few days before Christmas. Over forty stalls offering a wide range of food, art and crafts to satisfy your needs and help you purchase some beautiful and unusual Christmas gifts.
