Nottingham has an array of excellent theatre venues for young and old theatre goers alike.
The Royal Centre in Theatre Square Nottingham is home to the Theatre Royal and The Royal Centre. The Theatre Royal was visualised by two of Nottingham's lace dressers, William and John Lambert in 1865. The classic frontage with its imposing white pillars gives the venue a striking and regal appearance. The Victorian style interior decor and its comfortable seating for 1,186 person's compliments the building.
The theatre is renowned as one of the best entertainment touring venues in the UK for drama, opera, ballet and stand up comedy, West End musicals and of course annual pantomime performances. Alongside the Theatre Royal there is the Royal Concert Hall a 2,500 seat auditorium which boasts a state of the art sound and light system. The contemporary Nottingham Playhouse presents a range of performances to entertain you in its modern building, with elegant and airy foyers, comfy seating auditorium and bars.
