The world's fastest car - Bugatti Veyron

Bugatti Veyron has been marketed as one of the world's fastest cars; it has the capacity to travel at a top speed of 257 mph. It is not just a supercar but it is a super racing car which carries the name of the racing driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939.

The new 2010 extraordinary version of this car has been modified to give tough competition to other supercars on the market. The stylish and elegant two door convertible is powered by 8 litre W16 engine that produces 987 horsepower. There has been a staggering amount of engineering and development into producing the Veyron's engine. Its engine has carbon fibre elements and two air intakes that allows cool air for the cooling of its engine and the front wheels. Bugatti is renowned for its high-performance driving dynamics. The newly designed engine is predicted its speed can increase from 0 to 2000mph in less than 20 seconds. It's already known that the Bugatti Veyron speed power is amazing, it can do 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds and 0-100 in 5.8 seconds, proving that it really is a very fast supercar.

The suspension system allows the car height to be increased or lowered depending upon the road conditions. The alloy wheels with specially designed tyres are equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels.

Bugatti responded to customer comments and made modifications to the Veyron to enable open-top driving. Its removable roof meant the load paths had to be completely redesigned to maintain its rigidity and crash safety. The vehicle now offers additional protection from side impact and rolling. New body features also include daytime running lights, high windscreen and a transparent roof. The front face of the car has been redesigned with improved aerodynamics and carbon fibre which draws 20% additional air to the radiators for better cooling.

It is the world's fastest and most exciting supercar and it's not surprising that it will be retailing as one of the most expensive supercars - but so worth it if you can afford it.
