JLS show Luxury Cars

They are fast becoming the biggest boy band in the UK with no more Westlife’s and with Take That still pulling the strings they are tipped to be the biggest boy band in the UK in a couple of years. All of the four lads were at the BBC Maida Vale Studios each arriving with an impressive luxury car. Three out of the four boys were behind top sports cars and with the group about to record a session with Ortise Williams who drove a state of the art Mercedes Benz jeep. The lads were photographed by the recording studio to record a Live Lounge session for Radio 1 with most of their fans in the crowd being female ready to welcome them.

JLS were not too far behind with their rides either with Jonathan Benjamin also known as JB driving a Mercedes Benz SLS AMG which has a starting price of £157,000. Marvin Humes was also driving one of the Mercedes sports cars. Aston Merrygold was the only one of the members not to turn up in a Mercedes and he showed up in an Audi R8. The white R8 looked sleek with people saying the Audi was worth around £87,000 however the press did notice something odd as the tax disk had expired on the Audi R8.

Nancy Dell Olio Has Chauffeured Phantom

Nancy Dell'Olio is not the type of woman who does things by half. When she found out that the Strictly Come Dancing final was to be held in Blackpool, the lawyer made sure she was prepared for the trip up north. Having never been to the home of Britain's Pleasure Beach before, she took extra care to ensure that she was protected against the harsh seaside winds. The 50-year-old decided to double her pleasure and wore not one but two fur items to walk from her front door to a chauffeur driven Rolls-Royce.

She carried her long light brown fur coat on one arm and accessorised the outfit with what looked like a crocodile skin handbag. The large brown handbag matched her top but clashed with her suede boots. It wasn't until the feisty Italian-American arrived at the airport that she decided to put on her long fur coat.

The New Bentley Zagato to be launched in China

Italian style automotive style masters, Zagato, are making just nine Bentley Zagato’s of which 7 will be sold in Europe and the USA and two being singled out for Asian markets making the Bentley Zagto one of the rarest cars in the world. When developing the car Zagato worked closely with Bentley to give an already exclusive car an added exclusivity, development was carried out by Bentley at their Crew, UK facility and also in partnership with Zagato, where Zagato’s craftsmen worked tirelessly to handcraft each and every panel on the car, notably many of Zagato’s workers are fourth generation coach builders which goes to show the level of workmanship shown by each worker to every car.

UK pricing was set at £500,000 and Chinese pricing could well be much more, model no 8 is likely to be sold in China in the next few months. The demand for super luxury cars in China has become apparent in the past few months, the Aston Martin One-77 had five units set aside for the Chinese market ahead of its Shanghai Auto Show debut earlier this year, however all models were sold before the auto shows curtains had been opened for the first time.

Bentley to add V8 at Supercar Show

Bentley will show new versions of its Continental GT and GTC at next month’s Detroit motor show, with 4-litre V8 engines. The new twin-turbo units will promise Bentley customers 40 per cent better mpg and CO2 figures compared to existing 6-litre W12 Continentals. These figures meet a commitment the Crewe manufacturer made three years ago to offer a power train with precisely these improvements compared to the W12-engined cars, more than 50,000 of which have been sold in eight years.

However the new cars will be no soft option – Bentley is promising “sub-five second” 0-60mph times for the 500bhp V8 – the 631bhp W12 returns a 4.4-second 0-60mph sprint. The V8 also offers 487lbft of torque, on tap from 1700 to 5000rpm. The unit boasts direct injection and a variable displacement, allowing it to transform itself from a V8 to a V4 when under light throttle.

Controlled through a sophisticated engine management system and matched to a close-ratio eight-speed auto transmission, the effective ‘cutting out’ of four cylinders significantly boosts the 17mpg fuel consumption and 385-plus g/km CO2 emissions figures of the W12.

Maybach and Hummer set to join forces?

With Maybach announcing that they will no longer be making vehicles come 2013 have they decided to make a master move with Hummer? Hummer recently stopped making vehicles but has now released a new motor called the MX which is a tiny sized hummer which comes in some very strange colours and varieties. Maybach who sell their vehicles for an average price of around £700,000 with one of their vehicles costing almost £4million can do what they want but why have they decided to stop with the brand. Is this a master move from the great Mercedes or is the line simply not making enough profit, it is reported Meceredes were making a loss every Maybach they sold due to how much the vehicle was costing them. To be simply put only millionaires could afford the vehicles they were building.

Unlike Bentley and Phantoms not only the rich millionaires could afford these cars you needed to be a mega mogul but with this recent news it has sparked rumours that the two companies are going to make a super vehicle which could end up being very weird. Only time will tell for this.
